What is the difference between C and sub C batteries?
Sub C batteries physically resemble what could be described as a smaller version of the Regular or Standard C size battery. They measure 23 mm in diameter, by 43 mm in length. They’re available in both NiMH chemistry (Nickel Metal Hydride) and NiCD (Nickel Cadmium) chemistry, both of which are rechargeable.

Can I use C2 batteries instead of C?
The biggest difference is probably the voltage – C batteries are 1.5 volts each, while C2 batteries are 3 volts each. Other than that, they both have almost the same diameter. So if you need a battery with a higher voltage, go for the C2s – but otherwise, either type will do the trick.
Can I replace a NiCd battery with a NiMH battery?
Ni-MH cannot be used instead of Ni-Cd, as the Ni-MH will degenerate quickly because it will be charged under the charging conditions for Ni-Cd (which are different to those of the Ni-MH).
Are there different size C batteries?
Although it is possible for C-cell batteries to have different capacities and voltages, the physical size remains the same. C type batteries are built to a standard size to ensure maximum compatibility with both devices and accessories such as battery holders.
Do Lithium batteries come in size C?
